Free Debt Services - Debt Charity or Charities

  • Free debt servicesFREE debt charity or debt charities that offer a NO FEE service! - Using a so called FREE debt charity or debt management company is not always what it can seem!
  • Do you know whose best interests these free debt charities or free debt service companies are serving and who is funding their FREE or NO FEE services?

With the increase in available credit in the UK, the number of debt management companies has also increased dramatically over recent years. Whilst most of these companies are professionals working entirely in the interests of their clients, there are some who do not and they promote themselves as free debt services or as charities / charitable organisations.

If a company doesn't charge for their debt management plan or service, there could only be one or two reasons why this could be.

  • Either they are a legitimate charity like the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB),
  • Or they are being funded by an individual or another organisation. That other party could well be the creditors you actually owe money to.  Obviously, in this situation there is a clash of interests and the debt management company can not possibly claim to be giving impartial advice to YOU.
  • FACT: very few charities or companies in Britain are willing to work for nothing.

If you are currently with a free credit management service who doesn't charge you for their services, ask them how they are funded. You may be surprised by the answer!

At Lewis Alexander we make no secret of the fact that we do charge for our services. These charges are for working for YOU with YOUR interests at the heart of everything we do. These charges are accepted as fair and proportional within the industry and are all above board and agreed up front.

A free debt charity will not always offer to deal with your creditors for you, they sometimes only advise you on how to deal directly with your lenders which is known as self debt management.

  • The big selling point is that these debt charities are FREE!
  • When was the last time you got anything for FREE?

These free debt charities have to pay their staff wages also, just like all other debt companies, it is usually the credit card and loan companies funding the main charitable debt organisations and you should be careful when choosing which credit service to advise you.
